Life goes on within you and without you

"...Pero siempre le recuerdas: mientras aun estas nadando, no puedes ahogarte."

"I'm sick today. Which I'm sure casts a pallor over my opinion of current events, but bear with me. I'll try to keep a fair attitude.

"Things are going well on the legal front-- Sparrow and I have our interview within a month. I'm a bit nervous, but I think that's intentional on their part. Nearly every organization maintains respect for itself by making good people nervous. Those who aren't nervous seem to have more trouble with things like this than those who are.

"This wednesday Sparrow departs for the exiled lands to finish wedding plans. Two weeks after she returns, her parents arrive. The next week we make a long convoy journey across all of the southwest, not unlike what I took Sparrow on her first time to visit my country. This time, however, will be much shorter. Should be interesting, although I'm a bit disappointed how everything I used to do for fun has doubled in price while wages have been slowly dropping. (Way to go, Mr. Commander & Cheef!)

"The Rainbow Dragon has finally commissioned me to make his engagement ring/wedding ring set. Unfortunately, I've hit my illness just in time to slow down my progress. He needs it before he leaves for the east coast two moons from now. It's turning out to be a bit of a trick, but I feel up to the task, especially after finding all my old contacts business cards with today's house-clean.

"The jerky administration at my art school in London dropped my enrollment. My beloved but confused course director dropped the ball on processing my enrollment after I flew overseas specifically to see her back in September. It's not going to kill me to have to handle my student loan info right now, but I'm frustrated and insulted at their callous handling of me.

"I also feel that my time as an art student is now completely officially over. I am now a married man, and a corporate fashion designer.

"Perhaps nobody wants to believe they are growing older, that some things they could do freely are now sealed away forever. To quote the elven brewer I used to work with: "You'll always feel the same way as you did when you were 19, until you look in the mirror one day and realize you're old."

"I guess I shouldn't be complaining. Things are fine. I'm not old, just too old for my previous habits. I need to spend more time doing the stuff that people my age do.

"Now I just need to figure out what that stuff is..."
