*hovers in mid air and spins around so he's upside down and grinning at Jason* It's not boring, I don't mind going slow for you 'cause you're fun anyway. But tidepools are awesome too, we c'n find more starfish maybe!

*smirks at Kon* You like bein' upside down a lot. You're so weird.

Ooh, starfish an' ane-- anemones! I've seen those on TV. Let's go look!

You'd like being upside down too if y'could. It's more fun than being right side up!

Aren't 'nemones hurty? Better be careful, don't want you t'get hurt. *rolls around so he's horizontal and starts flying at the same pace Jason walks*

Nuh-uh, all the blood rushes to your head and then you feel all spinny and weird when you go right-side-up after. I know. Batman hangs me upside down and makes me pick locks for training.

I'm not stupid, Kon. *sticks his tongue out at Kon and then laughs* I'm ain't gonna touch 'em. I just wanna look!

*He still feels a little bad about making Kon fly slowly, so when they get to an area of the beach with some smooth, firm-packed sand, he makes sure Kon is out of the way and does a series of cartwheels just for fun.*

Doesn't for me! I just get t'see everything upside down. *exaggerated frowny face* That's 'cause Batman's a meany.

I know you're not stupid! *wrinkles his nose at Jason* I can touch 'em, they won't hurt me.

Oh wow! *stops mid air and sits cross legged, watching Jason cartwheel* That's so cool! I couldn't do that if I couldn't fly.

Batman's not a meany. Meanies do things for no reason other than being mean. Batman makes me do things like that so's I c'n be a good Robin.

Man, you get t'do everything. You gotta tell me what they feel like, if they can't hurt ya.

*Jason bounces on his toes and grins at Kon* Took lotsa practice. Wanna see me do a backflip?

But you're already a good Robin! Y'don't need t'be dangled upside down.

I'll tell you! They probably just feel squishy and wriggly. Like jello.

*big grin, and he clasps his hands together* Yeah, yeah! I wanna see, do a backflip!

I gotta be a better Robin. Better'n Dick an' everything. That way, Bruce won't change him mind about me.

*Jason might be forgetting that he's not still Robin. He does that sometimes even when he hasn't been mind-whammied by magic, so...*

You're probably right, but we should find out for sure instead of just thinkin' we know. What if they feel like something really different?

*grins back and gives a little bow* Sure thing! *He tests the sand around him, stomping it a little to make sure it's still firmly packed, smiles at Kon again, and does two backflips from a standing position.* Ta-dah!

*nods* Mmhmm! I'll find out an' I'll tell you. Maybe if I protect you with my aura you can touch it too?

*claps when Jason does the back flips* So cool! You're the best, kalei.

Oh. That's good. That's... *big smile* really good.

You'd do that? Awesome. Let's go find a tidepool! *he runs back up to Kon and holds up his hand, waiting for Kon to take it.* You're the best, cielocito.

Yeah, it is. Batman likes you even if he's a stupid, meany sometimes.

'Course I would! *he grins and floats down so he's standing on the ground and takes Jason's hand.* Nah-huh. You are. *to prove his point he leans over and gives Jason a quick kiss on the cheek*

*Jason sighs softly; he's just not going to be able to convince Kon that Batman's not a meany.*

*clings tight to Kon's hand, and blushes a little when he gets kissed on the cheek* C'mon... I think I saw one over this way...

*Jason tugs Kon along with him as he heads closer to the shoreline again, toward a medium-sized, sandy tidepool.* Hey, there are starfish in here. There's a blue one! *he points it out with his free hand; he's not going to let go of Kon until he has to*

*smiles brightly at Jason when he blushes and squeezes his hand* Okay!

*he lets Jason tug him along, half-walking, half-flying* Ooooh, a blue one. That's prettier than the one I found. *he crouches down to get a closer look, but doesn't let go of Jason's hand*

See any 'nemones? *Jason crouches down as well, leaning forward quite a bit, but his balance is rock-solid (thank you, Batman) and he's in no danger of falling in.*

It's all pretty.

*Kon blinks, and his eyes go a vaguely red as he x-rays the pool* There's one under that rock there! *he tightens his grip on Jason's hand anyway, he doesn't want him to fall in!*

S'very pretty. Everythin' in Hawaii is pretty.

Maybe we should let it hide if it wants to, an' find another pool t'look in? *he looks back at Kon and raises both eyebrows in a questioning look*

*he grins* You lived in Hawaii before. Does that make you pretty?
