Note: My first Forever Knight fic since 1996. Written in 16 minutes including a quick once over.
His Caddy was parked at the curb a few streets down. Most nights he liked to drive, on a case with his partner Schanke or on his nights off, just driving around the streets of Toronto in circles.
It didn't matter where he went, as long as the memories didn't chase him he was gold. Which memories particularly plagued him, he didn't like to speculate.
But on nights like this, with the cool breeze touching his equally cold skin, Nick Knight could sometimes allow himself to feel almost a flush of warmth as his senses reminded him of the teeth that had pierced his skin, stealing his life and soul and replacing it with dual hungers. One had been greedily slaked for centuries, the other denied out of spite.
He sighed, spying platinum hair catching the early morning light as his former Master made his way towards him. Perhaps this would be a good time to finally burn.
