Does anyone remember the game Wizardry on NES? It was an RPG, back when RPGs were simple. Any time you came up against an opponent, your options were simple: fight or flee. Lately it seems like there's not much worth "fighting" for, and option #2 has been my default setting. My initial response to stress is to remove the problem, in its entirety. My life has reached some level of stability and I'm incredibly reluctant to dive into anything that might cause waves.
Maybe it's not right. Maybe it's a defense mechanism. Maybe if I fought for something, the reward would be greater than the risk. But that level of uncertainty isn't exactly thrilling me.
Maybe it's just one of those days...
