So, I couldn't go to ABQ with my friends and that makes me so sad. But I am extremely happy that SlamCharlotte came out on top in their first bout last night!! YAY!!!! I'm also happy that Columbia also came out on top in their first bout last night! Even though I'm happy for Columbia, cause they do in fact have a kick ass team....SlamCharlotte is my heart and where all my loyalties lie (sorry hun!) so, of course, I'm rooting for Charlotte to not only go all the way...but to bring it on home! They came so close last year, so this year....they are on a MISSION!! I don't think Nationals was at all ready for what the Carolinas were bringing. But they know now!! LOL
The main reason I couldn't be in ABQ, is because my younger sister got married in Ocho Rios, Jamaica on July 23 and she and her new hubby are having a HUGE reception this Sunday afternoon (8/14) so that everyone can participate in their joyous occasion. I'm so excited to be going home. I haven't been back since New Year's and I can't wait to see everyone! I'm even taking my acoustic guitar so my dad and I can play around a little. I'm closer to my dad than I am to my mother, but I can't wait to see my mom. I know she is going to say something that will hurt my feelings (she ALWAYS does) but I'll suck it up, cause I miss her. I want to go to the Thai Restaurant with my girlfriends, maybe get on the mic at Legacy, have breakfast at Cracker Barrel with my sister....just do some of the things that I used to take for granted when I lived there. I don't know when I will be able to go home again so I plan to pack a LOT of stuff into 2 days and 3 nights....so I'm planning on stocking up on Red Bull, cause sleep will only hold me back. LOL
As I sit here with my lunch of french fries and a wild cherry pepsi, visions of StL dance in my head, playing a movie of memories as sweet as a baby's affection. I'm reminded of the Wizard of Oz, and it makes me think that quite possibly, Dorothy was on to something when she said "There's no place like home."
Spread love, ya'll.
Peace.
