Thank you! If I was really awesome I'dve looked up what specific music was getting lots of college radio-play circa 2004, but I think coldplay fits the bill fine. I'm glad that you liked it!

Ouch.

Mmm, Dean being a good little soldier. Gotta love that angst repression, real healthy there.

it's little but it says a lot. <3

Thanks! And yes, if 5.14 taught us anything, it's that repression is an effective, viable way of dealing with unpleasant emotions and fears. Right? :D

*sighs* Of course he wasn't surprised that Sam left. He knows his brother so much better than their father did.

Great little moment. :-)

Hey there! Yeah, I think that Dean understood both of them better than they did each other, and even themselves. The thing I'm always on the fence about is how well he understands himself! I'm pleased that you liked it, thanks for the comment!

The machine’s an invitation to plug into the sound of Normal, CA, and drown out the thrumming of the highway.

That's a fantastic line. You've got such a way with words.

I love Dean here, not quite sure of what to feel, trying to take this object that helped separate Sam from his life and turn it into something more safe and familiar. And I wish we got to see more of him on the show being good with his hands and able to do things like build EMF detectors out of walkmans. It fits in so nicely with his character.

Why thank you! I wish we saw more hyper-competent!Dean on the show, too; I find it almost unbearably attractive when he's on top of everything and getting stuff done. I appreciate the single manly tear as much as anyone, but he's actually a very strong character and I think it's good to mix in a bit of him doing something useful with all that bottled angst. ;)

Excellent little story behind the walkman/emf meter!
