Dear Andre
We were busy when your 2 month birthday rolled around with back to back visits from some of your mom's friends. We are so lucky to have all these wonderful people wanting to meet you. Both Uncle Blaine and Aunty Amber fell in love with you and your chubby little brown cheeks. As month two got closer I began to get a little nervous about what I could say. You are still just a little baby and it was hard to see progress from month one but then you started smiling the biggest smiles. At first they were random and didn't seem to be tied to any action on the part of your parents or whoever happened to be holding you. Some of my favorite are the ones when you are asleep. Then I noticed one day while changing your diaper that you smiled when I tickled your little belly and I can't express how that made me feel.
This month, your dad thought it would be a good project to take a picture of you everyday. We were successful except for one day. I look back to the beginning of the month and see how you've filled out even more and how happy you look. I love how big your eyes are and that they are finally a very dark shade of brown. I can't help but want to go wake you up right now from your nap and give you more kisses.
This is a year of firsts and we got quite a few firsts knocked out during month two. You attended your first Seattle coffee house gig where mommy performed and met some other folk singers. You flew your first kite with dad and uncle Blaine's help on kite hill in Magnuson Park. You took your first outdoor adventure to the Japanese garden and were very good while we walked around taking in the spring weather. You even attended your first sporting event when we took you to watch Aidan play soccer. This has certainly been a busy month. We are looking forward to month three being a time to get into more of a routine for you. We will see how that plays out.
At your two month doctor visit, Dr. Reed said you were growing and developing just fine and not to worry if you didn't have a poop everyday. I guess you are more like me than we thought. Dear boy, please forgive us for all the worry we pour into your every last breath and blink. We are only concerned that we do the right things to protect you, and help you grow and develop normally. Sometimes we overreact, but we promise to relax as we get a little more confident in ourselves as parents.
Love,
Mom
