We are moving past the pain of losing Petely, but we still feel it sometimes. And it still bugs that we don't know how he died. Thank you all who offered condolences.. It really did mean a lot. :)
So, life goes on and the last month and more has been busy enough. Somehow I managed to mess up my back last week and that put me out for a few days. Sooo NOT fun. Not being able to do things like brush my hair or braid it let alone take a shower really really got to me. It was just awful. The apartment wasn't getting cleaned and I couldn't even take care of my own hair. GRRR. If I have anything to say about it that will be the last time my back is messed up. >:|
New motivations to take better care of my body came out of that experience. And I sure do have a long road to travel with that.. 10 years or so of deterioration changes a lot.
I also very much desire to discover a healthier, more comfortable, and more efficient version of my apartment. De-cluttering is so totally on my to-do list. Also, proud of achieving a pattern of weekly vacuuming that is mostly working for me. This is leading to the fulfillment of both goals in that 3 times a week is a lot of vacuuming so that is some exercise and having a cleaner carpet makes for a cleaner and more pleasant place to do pilates since I do not have a mat.
Friends recommended two things that I have found somewhat useful in achieving the above.
Last summer a friend told me about
http://flylady.com/ and I've been having fun with it ever since! Definitely an excellent resource and many useful ideas!
Recently another friend pointed me in the direction of
http://sparkpeople.com/index.asp so I am checking it out, and so far enjoying several of the features.
