Azkatraz, here I come
I just received an email telling me that both presentations I proposed for Azkatraz were accepted! One is a paper entitled "Harry and Tarot: Reflections of the Major Arcana in the Harry Potter Books", and the other is a roundtable: "JK Rowling and the Splintered Audience" (based in part upon the interesting discussion engendered when I posted an essay here of the same title).
Since I've got most (but not all) of the paper written, and the roundtable questions are also written, my main challenges now are to 1) find good images of all of the cards in the Major Arcana to use in a PowerPoint presentation; 2) learn how to use PowerPoint :facepalm: and 3) figure out how to cover the Tarot symbolism in each of the seven books in only about 8 minutes (or less, to allow for Q & A) per book.
Wish me luck. I'm already feeling out of breath just contemplating it! OTOH, I'll be going to San Francisco again for the first time in TWENTY YEARS, the whole family is coming with me, AND it'll all be right around the movie release of Half-Blood Prince! So as I work I'll think about having all of that to look forward to. :D
