Eureka!

It's done! The page is 100% fully functional! you can search, you can browse what I have there (which is nothing for real... so don't take any of it too seriously) and everything. Now I'm going to do some cleaning up of the back-end, but methinks that can wait until tomorrow... I've earned a break for today considering I spent three hours mowing the lawn before doing this.

So, the things I need to do to the backend:

1) Apply the templates so it's not just an ugly white page (it'll be slightly less ugly white page)
2) I need to change the way art is added to the database... I'm storing the full path to the filename instead of just the filename. the path can be stored in a config file (which i did for hte icons... why i didn't for the art is beyond me)
3) I need to create two new types of content: pictures and blog.
4) I need to secure my code... add in error checking and handling, limit the lengths of things on the user management forms, add comments... general tidying up. I don't want to have to touch this section again aside from adding css tags.

and that's it for hte backend. That's all pretty simple since it's just variations on the code I'm arleady using, so that should all be done by this weekend. At least that's what I'm aiming at... that way I can start with the graphical stuff again. I'm almost regretting that since I have no idea what I'm going to do for a logo. Speaking of such things, I haven't heard anything from Anissa in a while. which is fine, she's probably out enjoying her summer and living life to the fullest. god knows I haven't, sitting behind a desk at work, then coming home and sitting behind a desk here. Oh well, four more weeks and I'm back at Clarkson for the great radio station work week. which I will be doing alone. well, I guess I won't be doing it alone... Mike'll probably pop on down whenever he doesn't have RA training. He couldn't keep away if I bludgeoned him to death then hid him in the trunk of my car. But in any case, I'm living in an on-campus apartment this year, which means... NO MORE MEAL PLAN! :) for those non-clarksonians out there, it also means no campus food.... i've got a car, so I can get and prepare my own stuff this time around. I can hardly wait... i've never really had full and complete control over what I eat.

oh, and before I forget, I'm going to start fashioning my fanfic for the end of Demonology 101 contest! just as a reminder to myself, that will start this weekend... and maybe it'll get me out of the coding mindset (all the technical stuff should be done by then) and into my new chosen profession: writing.
