His mother gave him a male Cyndaquil when he was a kid, and they essentially grew up together. Over his travels, it eventually evolved into a Typhlosion. It has a Quirky nature (much like Zuko) and a habit of getting itself into trouble.
The first Pokemon Zuko caught himself (OK so maybe Iroh was involved, helping him adjust his throwing aim, chucking bait at the thing, etc. BUT HE CAUGHT IT ON HIS OWN AND HE WAS VERY VERY GROWN UP) was a male Growlithe. Interestingly enough, it had a scar behind its left ear, and Zuko has always had mixed feelings about evolving it. After finally breaking ties with his father, he used a fire stone on it, evolving it into an Arcanine.
A recently-hatched Tyrogue (male) that Zuko carried around as an egg most of his time in the Earth Kingdom (it was a good cover to compensate for his fire Pokemon). It is very scrappy and Zuko and Sokka frequently debate over what he should evolve it into. (Sokka tends to favor Hitmonchan, Zuko Hitmonlee--neither of them are amused by Aang's suggestion that they split the difference and go with a Hitmontop.)
A Wobuffet (male) that he caught by accident. It isn't very battle-worthy, and mostly loafs around. He was seen yelling at it to "Take me seriously!" frequently, but eventually accepted it as a friend. It enjoys tea and gets along with Iroh famously.
