Back from my yearly "Elizabethan salmon" trek to the Utah Shakespeare Festival. This year they made the controversial decision to interpret Richard III as someone suffering from cocaine addiction--or maybe that was just the casting. Either way, he spoke so fast and was generally so frenetic that I left without much idea what had happened, even though I've seen the play before--admittedly, though, I let my mind wander during the second act. Midsummer's was a little disappointing too, what with the prevalance of children-as-fairies (one of whom, poor soul, got tangled into the scenery and Titania had to ad-lib rescuing her) and the casting of Richard as Oberon, though admittedly he was not as distracting as Oberon.
Also? Campsite closed, river full of downed trees from heavy snow, and me falling and injuring my foot on the second day in addition to my ongoing back problems. If my yearly trip to the Festival is salmon-like, I think I got eaten by a bear this year. :(
