my bad.
so, apparently i haven't updated since april. since before my actual summer began. i've been meaning all summer to write down my many summer adventures, as this summer has actually been fantastic as summers go. so, in sum: my summer.
i've been working like a crazy person. pretty much all the time. except when i spent a week in england. i saw london, i saw leeds, i saw Kings Cross and Kensington Gardens and the most breathtaking Greek and Roman display i think i'll ever see at the British Museum. i got a horrible fever and sickness the day i was coming home, and i really very narrowly escaped getting stuck in London. Steve commented to me one day that i have the remarkable ability to get myself into potentially horrible situations and come out unscathed with a great story. go me. after that more working like a crazy person, but even that wasn't so bad. i've made some super awesome friends on Elgin, i pretty much rock the whole block. i'm VIP at the bars and don't pay for most of the drinks i aquire. not that there's been a ton of guys banging at my door, but i'm part of a pretty awesome staff free trade agreement that makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. i even got to go to an advanced movie screening, which i'd never done before. I've been to a new beach, read the last Harry Potter and seen Order of the Phoenix in 3D. i won a hot air balloon ride, i've seen my parents and sister a lot [though haven't been home since january really.] more and more amazing people are moving to Ottawa and i'm pretty freaking excited about this year. a few boys of summer have come and gone, i've played soccer, had quite a few amazing nights with amazing people. i've successfully held down 2 jobs that i know never would have happened in bville. i'm taking off on a road trip to halifax next weekend. last night at soccer, i even scored a beautiful header goal and played really well for the whole game. poker night followed and i got second, though Ben won the aviators. we all got drunk and watched Boten Anna and Numa Numa and the Star Wars Kid in his many incarnations.
i should clean some more. i've been pretty hedonistic this summer to be honest, i don't even mind my jobs. it's been swell. i'm gonna go hang out with my cat cuz he's way better than dishes.
