I finished the dress from the fabric Avery's teacher gave me
I'm pretty happy with it. The bodice turned out the best so far, and it was the first time I've really done gathering (the robot dresses called for it, but the material kind of gathered on its own with the long stitch, so I didn't really do much pulling).
The bottom tier was very difficult and my gathering threads broke about 80% of the way there (at which point I decided to just "make it work" at the machine). The gathering on the middle tier was considerably easier after that experience. Still, this is a design feature I think I'll try to mostly avoid.
All in all, I think it came out good enough considering it's a play dress for a 3ish year old.
Next up, pajamas for me. But not tonight.
