"What is this...?"
The scene before her showed evidence of an intense battle, dust hanging in the air from the destruction occuring in the area. She didn't know that a place like this existed in an NOL base. There were numerous stone statues everywhere, mostly crumbling and broken. On guard, she slowly advances and finds a massive, glowing hole, within it what looks like something between a sword and a pot.
For a moment, she stays silent as she gets the feeling that she's seen this before, but is interrupted by the sound of screaming and something ducking away from the corner of her eye.
"Who goes there!?" she calls out into the open space, hoping for the intruder to show themselves.
"Target confirmed... analyzed... Now beginning fusion."
"Answer me!" she demanded, summoning Bolverk into her hands as she continues approaching the source of movement. "I am Lieutenant Noel Vermillion of the Librarium! I'm placing you under arrest."
"Target determined hostile. Now commencing termination process," the strange voice spoke again. "Target in possession of unknown weapons... Increasing threat level from three to seven. Murakumo unit activated... Blood-scythe deployed. Functioning... Awaiting target's capture."
The sight was something that Noel was not prepared for. That... thing... wasn't even remotely human.
"Eek!" Noel screamed and took a few steps back in terror. "What... What the hell are you!?"
The monster came closer, its height towering easily over Noel.
"Now terminating target."
She was scared, but she couldn't back down. If she were to run away, this thing would be let loose and cause havoc everywhere. Noel didn't want that to happen. She points her revolvers at the beast, trying her best to keep her hands from shaking.
"One more move, and I'll shoot!" she shouted, her fingers slowly beginning to pull back the triggers. The monster didn't relent. "This is your last warning! Stop or I'll fire!"
Realizing that her orders were falling on deaf ears, she opened fire on the beast. Despite her full-out assault, it still stood unscatched. Noel gasped, her face turning pale from horror.
"What... What's going on? How are you still standing!?" she desperately continued to fire. "Fall! Fall! Fall! Fall! Fall! Please...! Go down already!"
Her attacks don't even faze it. It reaches out and rips the guns out her hands, then crushes them. Noel's eyes widened... the one thing that made her useful was destroyed.
"Bolverk...! No... No way..." she fell to her knees, tears pouring out of her eyes as she stared up at her assailant.
"Target's threat level decreased."
"You... monster... YOU MONSTER!" Noel screamed, trembling in fear. The worst was yet to come, as the thing reaches out again, and grabs her by the neck. "No! Let go of me! Right now! P... Please... let me go... Please... I beg you---"
She felt the air in her lungs escaping, and she found it harder to breath as throat continued to be squeezed.
"Guh!" she cried out in pain, but that doesn't stop it from gripping her neck even harder than before. "Ow... Ah... *cough* Someone... please... Somebody... help me...!"

[Noel falls off her bed, accidentally rolling her covers with her. After struggling to get out of her blanket-y prison for a bit, she tries to calm down. She inhaled and exhaled deep breaths, as she spoke in a slightly hoarse voice:]
... What... was that...
