But barely.
This weekend was Fanshawe College's Holiday Hoedown. It was put on by my second year Hotel Management Events Planning Class. Which means that I haven’t slept properly since Wednesday.
On Thursday we decorated one entire lunch hall, to look like the main street in most Western Films. We had a Saloon, Bank, General Store and Hotel. We also had around 20 8 foot tall (hand made) Cactuses, Silhouettes and a Jail. One 12 foot Christmas Tree and one Carriage completed the floor, which was set for 300 people.
We served Bison, Guinea Hen, and an amazing Chocolate dessert. The full dinner was Eight courses. There was a slient action, and a live band. Everything went really well over the two nights.
We ripped the full decortations down, cleaned every plate and mopped the floor in just under two hours.
I think I have three best moments:
When my class mates (all 90 of them ) sang me Happy Birthday during our "Prep Meeting" on Saturday Night.
When Laura and Jeff took my parents seating, and then found their own.
When my mother started the standing ovation (on the right hand side) we were given at the end of the night.
With that, I'm off to find some Chinese Take-Away. And maybe a little BDS.
