How I make square icons

So here is my square and not iBisPaint x required way.
First, get a render of the character you want to be in your profile. Get a render you like, like maybe a confused face or a smiling face. I usually do happy ones with eyes opened so you can see the character better, but it doesn't matter.
Then search for a Japanese pattern- choose a color the character has themed after them. I searched for Pink since Iroha is a pink magical girl.
You can search,"Free to use (color) Japanese Patterns" if it makes you feel better and less like you're using others'work when not allowed.
So now what? You can add a frame if you want, but I'll pass.
Next part- if you want, use a text with the characters name. Go to Dafont.com if you want a nice font. Fyi this is a Pixlr X or E thing I'm basically asking you to do, don't worry they are free. But you can find another site too.
Choose a color that's in the character with the color picker that's not the big main theme- put it as the outline and if your main color of the text isn't white, make it so. MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE FILE IF THERE IS A FILE SAYING READ ME CLICK IT AND MAKE SURE TO NOT USE IT IF IT SAYS FOR PRIVATE USE!
Make the text behind the character so you can't fully read. If you want more, search for some cute renders to use for edits. If that's all, you can be done.
I'm not a pro and created the style mostly as typing, but still.
I will plan to make a collab LiveJournal with my best friend to post icons of Madoka Magica/Magia Record. Here is the result for me.
You can use it if you want. Just try to credit in case I use or say you didn't make it because I plan to maybe use it and don't want to be accused of stealing.
You can change up things in this style. No credit needed for the style, but if someone asks how you make icons like this tell them where to find this so it'll help them.
I've been thinking my icons are horrible, so a little tutorial helped me. Thank you if you've ever made a tutorial.
