This morning I trekked all the way out to Mill End to pick up some supplies. Lord, it was cold. I had to take three buses to get there, it took over an hour and I thought I'd never get warm again! My fingers turned various shades of corpse because I was a genius and forgot my mittens.
I'm making a baby bathrobe for one of my work friends. Her shower is this weekend. It's going to be baby blue flannel with white trim, and the pattern is just too cute. It even has a teeny little belt and wee little pockets. If I have enough fabric left over, I'll whip up a little pair of flannel jammie pants to match. The baby is to be called Alexander, which pleases me no end...the last thing the world needs is another kid with one of those damned annoying trendy names they give out these days. Honestly, who's going to take you seriously when you say, "Hi, my name is Austynne Jadyn-Braidyn Tokyo Wellyngtyn Jones, nice to meet you!". Shudder.
Did everybody go out and party with their kickers? I know I did! I bought a see-through dressmaker's rule and shopped on line for trims and buttons. I know!!! Reckless! The rest is earmarked for my savings account and the Humane Society. For some reason Homer is in my head singing, "Hey, big spender, dig this blender! Rainbow suspenders, we surrender!"
