April’s picture posts of the garden!

May 19, 2012 13:27

Yeah, I’m a little behind. I’ve set a goal for myself this year to take a picture of the front and back yard every month (on or around the 20th, so May will be soon) so that I can keep track of growth.

Here’s what things looked like in April!

Trees still lacked a lot of leaves, but we were up to our eyeballs in daffodils.

The daffodils this year completely made up for the pain of planting them last fall, which is why I’m buying a ton more. That or insanity.

Another patch of daffodils, this one being a mix of types. It was fun to watch grow.

Hard to believe, but this picture contains 11 rose bushes in it. We’ve planted 8 of them this year in the front yard, which brings us to the following: 2 red (Linda Campbell rugosa hybrids), 6 white (2 Blanc de Coubert rugosa hybrids, 3 Morden Snowbeauty, 1 Rosa alba semi-plena), 3 yellow/peach (Morden Sunrise).

The side yard!

And now the uglier part - the backyard. We are slowly but surely landscaping this, and one of the plans for this year is to install a stone or brick patio back here that will improve things immensely.

Still, it must be photographed for my sake!

There’s your April yard update. Now I need to go take pictures for the May one! For those who don’t care about garden pictures, there will be an animal update today too.
