NJ to TX. Air Mega Mattress!

Next month, Rob & Cassie are moving to Texas. Cassie is flying down there with Monroe. Rob is taking the cat Harpo in the moving truck and driving down. Cassie's father David is driving the car for them. They are leaving out of Jersey City and heading to Austin. Cassie and the baby are heading straight there but the rest are stopping off in Louisville. At the same time, my Aunt Toots is staying with my folks. They're going to have a full house! Toots will stay in the guest bedroom but Mom isn't sure where to put David. I offered to take the cat for the night to let him burn off some steam. I am going to offer to lend out my air mattress - it is a really nice one.

I bought the air mattress for myself last summer. I was going to a music festival in Morehead and primitive camping is included in the ticket price. I'd been the year before and used just a sleeping mat, and I craved something a little more luxurious. I bought the air mattress online and shipped it to me house. It had an incorporated air pump, so I even bought a power adaptor so I could use the car battery to inflate it. When it arrived, I was so excited I ran to the basement immediately. I had the tent set up down there already - I think I was airing it out. I put the air mattress in there, and started to inflate it. I went to do something else and came back to it. The bottom half of the tent was bulging at the sides, and the top half looked like it was just clinging there. I goggled at it, then ran to the box to check the dimensions. Aha... The reason the poor tent looked crammed and ready to pop was that the mattress is TWENTY-TWO INCHES TALL. I ended up using the sleeping mats on that camping trip after all, but the air mattress has been a great boon when we travel and visit friends.
