and I just can't hide it!

YOU GUYS
THIS CHAIR
IS GONNA BE
SO AWESOME

I just about suffocated with joy all day at work every time I thought about it.

Got up and watched an episode of Hawaii Five-0 (Becca's fault).
I talked to Dad about sanders before I left. He recommended orbital and to get one from Harbor Freight Tools (since we couldn't find his, and HFT is cheaper than Home Depot). Left around 9:30 to pick up Jessica.
Realized I'd forgotten to grab my phone on the way out the door. Got Burger Inn for breakfast.
We drove down to exit 4 to get a sander from HFT, and then hit up Home Depot for a gallon of green stain (and brushes and turpentine because eff it, we can make our OWN stain, so says Jessi).

After we got the air compressor (Jessi's Dad's sander is pneumatic, which...I didn't know they could be that way) hooked up and everything plugged in we sanded for about two hours straight (with a couple minutes break in the middle to drink some water).
We stopped just after two (I walked Toasty and watered the wilting garden I just planted). I rinsed off the wood dust really quickly in the shower while Jessi printed a reference photo for the rose.
By the time I was dressed for work and back down in the garage Jessi had shuffled through most of the round things in the house (for the right size circles) and was drawing the rose on the chair.

After two hours of sanding, and there's still gray!

Pictures I took of Jessica drawing riiight before I left for work. Devin (her boyfriend) got off of work at five and picked her up then).

I demanded that Jessi send me a picture of her progress once Devin got to my house with Jessi's phone.

OMG. IT IS EVEN BETTER THAN I IMAGINED!

I think she's going to teach me to wood burn tomorrow and I get to do the outer circle.
Then we're going to crush some watercolors/chalk pastels in turpentine and PAINT! :DD (+with the big can of green from HD).
