Pardon Me- I'm In a Decemberists-Fueled Afterglow.

So tonight I:

- Heard The Hazards of Love played in its entirety, in order, with no breaks of any kind between songs.
- Squealed like a giddy little school girl for pretty much the entirety of the show.
- Sang my heart out. As best as I could, at least.
- Was blown away by some of the heavier portions of the album, in particular any of Shara Worden's bits. That woman has some vocal cords on her. And she can rock the fuck out on stage. It's one thing to hear The Queen's Rebuke/The Crossing on the album, but to hear her actually do it live is another thing entirely. She brought the house down with that one.
- Grinned from ear to ear when Becky Stark got up there and did her thing. Won't Want For Love is this album's Yankee Bayonet to me.
- Actually shed a few tears at the album's closing track, The Hazards of Love 4 (The Drowned). Such a sad song- but so so beautiful.

Speaking of Yankee Bayonet, Shara did the duet with Colin again. And now that I've heard the album version to be able to compare her versus Laura, I'd have to say she does a pretty good job. Chris and Colin had a duel of rockingness that was both hilarious and awesome. Then they passed their instruments onto two lucky kids that got to get up on stage and play for the crowd, which was really cool. :D Also, they brought Becky and Shara out for a bit towards the end where they covered "Crazy on You" by Heart. That was certainly unexpected.

After some thinking, I've reached a decision. This show is now the #2 spot on my list of BEST SHOWS EVER. Polyphonic just got knocked down, yo.
