I want the new Tony/Carol novel like whoa, I miss their interaction... And season four kind of sucked (except the finale which was really good). Still I look forward to series five!
Next summer, I think. aww so many good books will be released next summer, Harry Potter 7, The Inheritance Trilogy pt. 3, new Tony/Carol novel...yay, can't wait :D
I think S4 overall wasn't as good as S1-3. 4x01 was disappointing and I don't know why they bothered to adapt TToO. However, 4x03 was really good and 4x04 was brilliant. It was a mixed bag. Whether or not that's due to the fact the scripts apparently got rewritten to fit Alex prior to filming, I don't know. I do think that 4x04 would've been a lot more poignant with Carol there, but it was also the only episode that made me wonder if she were supposed to have been, though I think there are a couple of moments in earlier episodes that support that theory, too.
But anyway, while I miss Carol, I like Alex and am really looking forward to series five. And Beneath the Bleeding. Yay.
I stopped watching. I forced myself to watch episode 3 but by 4, I just couldn't. Imho, Tony isn't acting like himself and Alex ... isn't acting like a professional cop and detective.
I didn't stop watching because but I miss the Tony/Carol interaction (not just the angst but also the day to day working together stuff). I agree that Tony wasn't acting like himself and I don't like how they pulled Carol out and made Tony fancy Alex without any explanation. One minute he loves Carol, the next Alex. WTF?
*stretches memory back* I loved the second episode of s4 the most, just the whole concept of someone having a personality strong enough to totally overpower another and get them to do whatever? *draws cartoon hearts of morbid fascination* They briefly touched on that in s3 and I'm glad they returned to it in s4.
I loved the visuals in the psychiatric ward, and Tony communicating with the...that guy without words.
Honestly, they're on my list of "Things to read before I die" but right now, my pile of books to slog through is MASSIVE because I've been buying books but not reading them.
Also, Laurell K Hamilton has killed my brain.
Annnd I'm trying to write this November. GAH.
*dies slowly*
But yes, they're definitely something I'm going to track down when I have the time and money.
