Wait A Sec... Am I Going To Shoot This Thing?
So we got on our vehichles and headed out into the woods to play soldier last week.
Well.. actually it's more of a camping trip where we're packing heat and standing guard.
Nothing really exciting actually.
No live ammo, no real combat training.
Only training concerned manning a post four hours at a time
Which only happened twice a day.
The other sixteen hours consisted of reading and sleeping in my tent.
I read The Princess Bride for the 1st time even though I've seen the movie many times over
Actually in all reality it was Iraq all over again.
No mortars though coming down from the heavens trying to kill us.
Just an invisible made up enemy lurking in the woods that would never attack.
2004 was a year chalk full of combat operations from patrols and urban warefare
Seeing as we're not going to Iraq this year, the training is non existant
Which is fine by me... I could give a rat's ass *goes inside tent, and zips up door*
