Summary: All Soohyun wants is for the ulzzang to smile.
Smile
Kiseop’s smiling. Or so it seems to all the others- all the others except for Soohyun. And when he sneaks into the ulzzang’s room that night he knows he’s been right all along. Because nobody can actually miss the obvious patterns the tears had left over the younger boy’s face. Kiseop’s eyes are closed and he has a frown plastered on his lips, barely visible but still there.
Soohyun decides that from now on he’s going to try and bring out a real smile out of the younger. So when the next morning all of them meet in the practice room at an almost ungodly hour he focuses his gaze on the ulzzang- it doesn’t seem to bother the former or maybe he’s just too tired to acknowledge it. But Soohyun’s strange behavior doesn’t go unnoticed by the others and in almost a matter of seconds after the next song’s finished all of them are gathered over the main vocalist questioning expressions in place. He thinks it’s almost funny even though it’s pretty hard to brush them off- especially Kevin. But he does and after that resumes his previous activity.
It goes on for days. Soohyun keeps staring and the ulzzang keeps pretending he doesn’t see the obvious or maybe, just maybe he really doesn’t. Because the older doesn’t fail to notice the far-away look on the other’s face plastered there almost all the time and the way that his lips move almost as if he’s saying a prayer. Soohyun wonders if he could be God because that way maybe he would find out what’s bothering the other.
But it seems like even Kiseop’s obviousness doesn’t last forever because one day he just corners the main vocalist and asks why had he been staring. Soohyun’s answer is simple:
“I like you”
And it is one of those times when the ulzzang’s face loses his fake façade and faraway expression at once- because the only thing adorning his face now is shock. Soohyun simply smiles and hopes that someday maybe the other could mimic his actions (in more ways than one).
