Summary: The old man sighed
The old man sighed; he looked at the two young men and eyed them for a minute or two before he deemed them trustworthy and began talking again
'How could a killer kill the people in their beds without anyone seeing him sneaking around? Why was everyone who died in the forest shortly before getting killed? Why did he change his style of killing? And most importantly… how could a killer take such a long hiatus and live normally and just begin killing again now? And why did he send for you to come and catch him?' the man frowned
'I asked those questions already, I got some answers and some theories of my own, I know you got some facts for me and I want to hear them' yoochun eyed the man; they didn't break their eye contact still. His eyes were burning already and he needed, wanted to blink so badly, yet he didn't even dare to allow himself to think of blinking
'I just thought of some things, observing and listening carefully while speaking little helps give you a lot of information…' the man paused
Changmin didn't bother keep up with them now, he was so lost in this conversation he didn't understand a word, instead he looked around the room taking in everything and where it was
'And what did you know from doing so over the years?'
'Many things… like the fact that the late Mrs. Jung seemed so worried in her last days, she kept talking about him getting her soul and her fear over her boy… like how she was killed in the ranch and dragged to the filled to make it look like an accident… like how her husband was poisoned slowly to die… like how their son had suffered over the years because of his own blood betraying him'
'I know of those facts already, I need to know what you know and I don't' yoochun frowned
'I also know about your little friend, the one you brought from the forest…'
At this yoochun fisted his hands, he held on his gun so tightly that the serial number curved on the side of the gun left a mark on his palm, not that he cared actually. If this man was about to say something to try and hurt junsu, then he won't bother listening, he won't hesitate to kill him to protect his lover, not even for a second
'He targeted you since you brought him here…the boy had been through too much, he had seen too much' the man sighed
'How do you know about him?' yoochun hissed through gritted teeth, his patient gone already
'Never underestimate what a good alcohol could get you to spill out… I was there that night when the late Kim Youngwoon got drunk and began talking about his sister in low and her son nearby to the late Mr. Jung … unfortunately I wasn't the only one around with sharp hearing'
'Who… who else was there?' yoochun heard the shiver in his tone and wasn't surprised at it
'You see, once knew this it wouldn't be hard to know where the sister was staying, it wouldn't be hard to figure out where they were hiding… the forest, after all, had been a refuge to a few other outcastes'
'Like yunho's uncle? No, he feared the forest... never went near it… wait… if his lover was killed for being a queer, then what happened to Park Eun Hwa?'
'A very good question…' the older nodded his head ' he just vanished since then…no one saw him ever since… '
'He had a motive and he was in the forest for a long while, he isn't there now, why?' yoochun thought, the boy might have began the killings, but then he wouldn't be able to come back to the village, he wouldn't be able to listen to kibum's father talking about junsu and his mother…
'The butcher… what do you know about him?' yoochun couldn't help himself
'Ohh… that is an interesting family…the father, injured in the army, he was sent home and spared of the rest of his service after two months only. His friend, however, wasn't. He died in combo and so he was broken, that's what everyone said… Sun Hee whose fiancé was the one who died was the one really broken… she was forced to marry another by her father and ended up running with a man from the village on her weeding night'
'The man who didn't go missing' yoochun hissed and the old man nodded
Thoughts filled yunho's mind, he looked at the old man as if trying to penetrate him with his eyes, as if he wanted to look deep into his soul and know everything, he took a deep breath and asked
'Was she by any chance pregnant when she was forced to remarry another man?'
'That's supposed to be the deep, dark secret. But, she was forced to get remarried in less than a month because of that fact'
'And the butcher… could it be by any chance that he liked her or something?'
'He was married you see… but he was knows, is still known, for licking what else had'
So he wanted his friend's fiancé, but he was already married, he couldn't just have her, when he heard about her parents marrying her to someone else he kidnapped her and locked her in that underground cell in the mill knowing no one would search for her there and no one would hear her screams, time passed and she gave birth to a baby… what happened to it?
'His wife was pregnant too… no one saw her all the time she was pregnant, he said she was weak and needed to stay in bed… she was alone when she gave birth too, it was the time when the kidnappings just stopped… she died giving birth to her son'
No one saw her pregnant, no one saw her give birth, they only saw the baby and the dead woman, and logically they thought she died giving birth…but, what if…? Yoochun couldn't help but wonder, a theory cooking in his mind already, he only needed to confirm it
'He never got married again, he cherished his son when he was a baby… but as the boy grew older he seemed to dislike him more and more, nothing the poor boy ever did seemed to satisfy him, and those of us who still remembered would know he, the boy, looked nothing like his parents, but more like Sun Hee'
That did it, yoochun's theory was confirmed now, the man thought the baby was his; he probably raped the poor woman when he kidnapped her, when she gave birth he took the baby saying it was his own, from his wife, and he killed her too…but, why kill Sun Hee? Why not keep her alive? Something was still missing in this theory
'Did anyone examine the wife before burying her?'
The old man shook his head and yoochun sighed
