That darn opossum
We have a resident opossum that has been hanging around. He's gotten into the garbage, the bag of empty soda cans, and the recycle bin. So I decided that instead of having him rifle through the recycle bin and chewing on the plastic that I would put out some peace offerings. I had been wanting to start a compost bin but haven't had the time or the energy to get around to building one (wasn't going to spend a few hundred on buying one). And I didn't want to have a completely open one either because of animals getting into it and the fact that it would be stinky. So I just set some compostable stuff out on the step as the peace offering to the opossum instead lol. He likes apple cores, but not carrots.
Yesterday we came home and noticed that he had left us a gift, regurgitated berries that didn't agree with him. Which that was the other thing that prompted putting out the "peace offering" lol. So I guess I'll do that instead of just throwing the stuff away. Crazy Opossum anyway, he's a cutie. I saw him one night digging through the bag of returnable bottles. I went to put out kitty food instead but he ran off on me.
Maybe I'll just go ahead and start an open compost pile out there by the patio, the animals can take what they want out of it and leave me what they don't want lol.
