He lays Darien carefully on the bed and goes back to the bar for ice, returning in moments. He gets a towel from the bathroom and fills it with ice, and sits on the edge of the bed, stroking Darien's hair a moment.

"Ready?"

Charlie applies the ice pack carefully, wincing himself. "Sh, sh, sh," he soothes, stroking Darien's forehead.

"Love you too, crazy puppy," he whispers and leans over to kiss his forehead. He chuckles dryly. "And here I was thinking we'd have a quiet evening of sex and planning."

"I suppose that's a plus. A tiny, minor one." He lies down and kisses Darien's neck. "Well. My friend Nick has offered to pay for the wedding. So that's one less thing to worry about."

"My friend Nick, who's, like, eight hundred years old and likes to do things for his friends, has offered to pay for our wedding. So we can do pretty much anything we want to--we just need to figure out what we want to do."
