Charlie has a one-sided conversation

[ooc: post teasing Dream and Moiraine and trying to make friends with Loki]

"David David David," Charlie whispers as he crawls into bed beside the sleeping vampire. There's no repsonse, of course: it isn't yet sunset and David will not wake earlier.

Charlie lays his head on David's shoulder and holds onto his hand. "I've been thinking," he says as if David can hear him, and for all he knows David might. "I think--and correct me if I'm wrong--but I think if I were to go anywhere I should go back to your world with you. I don't know if you could come to mine, you see. I don't know if there are vampires and suchlike there--I know there are people who play at being them, but if they're real . . ." He shrugs. "And I don't want you crumbling into dust the moment we step outside the door because you can't exist in my world. Rather defeat the purpose."

He waits a moment, then says, "If you don't want me to come with you, say something."

The vampire is silent and Charlie smiles.

"I knew you'd see it my way." He leans over and kisses David, and lays his head on his shoulder again.
