[The pod flickers to life and reveals the vampire's parlor, his coffin on its bier against the far wall. The room is shaded in heavy draperies, no natural light permeates the room at all. Indeed, the only illumination is from several candles situated here and there about the place, giving it that creepy Gothic feeling ( Read more... )

Aye, I feel her death approaching once more.

Why not?

The death of day brings night, but the death of night brings the day.

Hmm... good enough answer for me.

Vicious circle, yet one which has existed since the very dawn of Time.

...are you truly so easily sated, child?

I wouldn't mind it continuing to exist myself. As much as I'm not fond of the sun, i do want the next day to come again. Thankfully it does, for now.

...[A pause, in pondering.]

It's not a matter of easily sated, but more a lack of curiosity at the moment. I was drawn in by the sound of your voice and a verse so well known. I questioned and you answered.

I am curious though... Child? Are you really that old?

Existence.....all we beget in this life. Such as it is. [An ironic snort.]

Indeed, give and take, push and pull until someone topples over such a yawning precipice, hm? Quaint.

Veritably, I say unto thee, age and else has darkened such eyes, until their shine is begotten in night alone. I have walked this plane for over five centuries, and stamped my legacy into its crust. And, as such, I will never leave it.

Sometimes it's all we have... existence.

Hmm... perhaps. [Another pause, a bit longer, then she speaks, with a bit of a smile in her voice.]

I like how you speak. Ah, but yes, so if you've been around for over five centuries... I suppose 'child' would be fitting to anyone around here. So your immortal?

The true immortal, dear child. Forged in blood and magic, bound to an eternity under the heels of a worthy family. Thus is my heritage, carved in that sibilant skein.

I am Nosferatu, the No Life King.

[The interest and curiosity has now seeped into her voice]

So... you're a vampyre? Hmm... I heard there were a few around here somewhere. [pause...] So you're bound to a worthy family. Are they here as well, or are you alone on the island?

The vampire, child.

And yes, my master has been brought here, as well. How very fortunate, but at the same time, disastrous.

Hmm...

So you're the Vampire of all vampires? And your from natural day earth? Because when and where I am from they always said vampires were myths. Not... that i hold much stock in that, seeing as I've talked to the dead before, anything could happen. But still... it's... interesting.

Disastrous? Is it bad that your mater is here then?-- An... right. It's not good that any of us are here, is it...

Hnnn, yes. And yes. And no. And yes.

She is not as I left her. Having regressed ten years is strange, even to me. But as time goes, merely a drop in the proverbial bucket.

[A small chuckle] Answered all the questions. How kind. This Island keeps getting more and more interesting.

---Oh, i see. A time discrepancy. There seems to be a lot of that around here.

Yessssss, that. And so I have been informed. Although I like not the differences, makes for insanity on the mind of one formerly sane. [A low chuckle.] Myself not included, of course.

However, the barrier held, which is of great consternation to this old monster. Monster monster monster...what will it take to break? What other sin must I commit for such a revelry?
