Most respectful Salutations.
This one is longer than usual. There is much to report.
Security for the Queen has been at a fever pitch in the most recent fortnight. An assassination attempt has been foiled by royal intelligence, at dismaying closeness to fruition. Another was detected, though the Lady took that one into her own hands before we could.
(Sometimes I believe our "security force" is a bit of a formality.)
In personal news, Portia has recently turned four years. Her mother's barrister has been in contact to settle custody, of which she wants surprisingly little. I dislike suspicion, but this development sees me without shortage.
Regardless, Portia's schooling advances well. She has revealed herself to be a bit of a talented artist.
As for myself, things are as they always were. Next moon sees my thirty and eight Name Day, which is somewhat sombering. The youngest of my unit is precisely half of my age and is still nearly a grown man.
Embarrassingly, they've erected a statue in tribute to myself and Vossler in Dalmasca, outside of the castle gates. It's quite lovely, marble and colored stones, but I do believe they've embellished my "war face".
The hammer is quite nice, though.
