viva le resistance
Ok, ok, here's another entry. I've found myself encountering some serious resistance toward even opening LiveJournal the last couple of days. Oh, the pressure -- what have I done?! (more incessant whining)
The RPG session last weekend went well! I enjoyed it, and it appears that the others did as well. I did feel unprepared as the DM and I made some mistakes; however, we all had fun with it, so there we no worries. It's good to get back into it. My geek roots had been languishing for several years.
Also, I've been getting in some fascinating reading on metacognition over the last few days. Right now, my interests have been focusing on the controversy over implicit and explicit forms of metacognition. Some argue that all cognition and metacognition must be explicit (or conscious) to qualify as such; however, given the evidence of implicit (or unconscious) forms of learning and response, this position seems strange to me. I'm looking forward to developing research that may explore this. Fun, fun!
