URGENT: Who wants a venue in camden?
This is gonna take some effort.
I am going to find a building that's for rent.
Second Skin Tattoo is moving out soon, so their space will be for rent...so this is my first choice.
But what I want to do, is get some people to chip in some money. Teenagers, kids, Parents, business owners, whoever thinks this is a good idea.
At first we'll pay rent with money people chip in.
Later on though, we can start paying the rent with a combination of money people chip in, money from ticket sales, and I can rent the building out some nights to the local theater group, CAP (if they still exist).
-There will be a concert every weekend.
-Every show will be ALL AGES. (we'll put a parental advisory on some of the concerts, but there won't be any smoking in the building, alcohol, or readmittance. This will keep the drug/alcohol problem out of the way.)
-I can get bands from Brunswick, Jacksonville, Camden County, Fernandina Beach, Folkston, etc.
-I can even get bands from New Jersey. (I get emails all the time from bands accross the country who are touring and looking for a place to play)
-One idea me and some friends came up with would work REALLY good for this. We will video tape every show, edit it, and release dvds. (the DVDs will be good for two reasons. One: it will promote the bands really well, and TWO: it can help pay rent on the venue).
- I'll figure out a way to give a percentage of ticket sales to the bands (but it will be encouraged that they sell their own merchandise, like shirts and stuff, to get some money.) Bands from out of town will more likely get paid a little bit for the show, to at least give them some gas money.
I have more ideas, etc.
But before I type everything out, How's this sound to you guys?

Or. abunch of you come help me clean up where we have band practice, and we turn that into a venue like I originally planned.
