nein-blut. She gave me the word Dear Abby and the pairing. After asking what Dear Abby meant (it's an advice column thingy) I started writing. Yes, I was supposed to write drabbles and this is 1000 words long. Well, complaints? And no, I usually don't write het pairings. Though I am surprised how good this turned out--I usually fail completely with writing female characters.

Hermione Granger was both stressed and happy. When professor Trelawney had suggested getting a Hogwarts students magazine going, Hermione had been thrilled. She had promised to do quite about everything because she had always wanted to be a journalist.
Then she had ended up having an advice column of her own. She was anonymous, no one knew who was writing the replies. She only said she had some Hogwarts Weekly's business when she was off to reply. She used a pseudonym, Susy, and she was very glad of it. The entire Hogwarts was going on about how they wanted to know who the mysterious Susy was, and Hermione had thrown in a few of her guesses, just to keep everyone from thinking she was Susy. Most of the people were thinking it was either Lavender Brown or Cho Chang, and Hermione didn't know if she was supposed to be flattered or hurt because of those guesses.
First she had thought replying to letters and giving people advice was going to be easy - first-years writing about how they've got crushes on their classmates and so forth, and that was what it had been. At the beginning.
Then the harder letters had started to pour in. A boy complaining about having a crush on someone whom he was supposed to hate - Hermione had written that he should start treating his rival as an equal, then try to become the rival's friend and then try to find out if there was a chance of an affair between them. Then, a girl complaining about having a crush on two boys at the same time - Hermione had told her to just think about it, contemplate her emotions. And then, finally - a letter she wasn't going to reply to.
"Dear Susy,
I am a seventh-year boy, and I've a crush on one of my friends. We have been friends since the first year, and we have been through a lot together. I reckon I've had a crush on her for as long as we've known each other. I don't usually write letters during the summer and I fear we'll lose contact as soon as we're out of school, and that's why I'm thinking about letting her know about the way I feel.
I'm just thinking... how should I tell her that I like her? I am very awkward in social situations and I'd rather not make a fool of myself.

Hermione wasn't a stupid witch, not at all. Besides being smart with books she was also good with people and she knew exactly who had written the letter. Too bad her Gryffindor courage got better of her, and thus she decided not to reply to the letter. Instead she folded it neatly, stuck it into the pocket of her robes and left. She wasn't going to reply to any more letters that day - she was in the mood for having a chat with a certain red-headed friend of hers.

Hermione drew in a deep breath before knocking on the door of the dorm Ron was in. She was glad everyone else was down in the common room, playing Exploding Snap or studying, and she was also glad that Harry wasn't a very curious person. He had just told Hermione that Ron was in the dorm - no questions asked. And now Hermione was there, her famous Gryffindor courage trying to escape and she was starting to feel like a Hufflepuff instead. Had she been a Slytherin, she wouldn't have had the stupid crush at all, or that's what she thought. To her it seemed that Slytherins didn't have a crush nor did they fall in love. They simply shagged whom they wished to shag, and then got married and reproduced with poncy purebloods.
Ron called her in and she went, slowly and silently.
"Hi", Ron said quietly when Hermione entered the dorm. "What's up?"
"Nothing, I just thought..." Hermione bit her lip and pushed a strand of hair behind her ear. She sighed as she felt the last bits of courage leave her. Hence the lie. "I just wanted to see you, that's all."
Ron blushed slightly, and sat back down on his bed. He was suddenly madly interested in the tiny hole in his sock. He wiggled his toes and pushed one of them out of the hole, and then he looked back at Hermione. She was standing in front of the door, staring at Ron and looking awkward.
"You know, the fact that you're just standing there is making me nervous. It's like I've done something... wrong."
"You haven't." Hermione's reply was fast, and she sounded fidgety.
"'Mione, are you ok?" Ron asked. He scratched his brow and smiled awkwardly. Hermione closed her eyes and bit her lip once again. She was contemplating between running to Dumbledore and demanding a resort - because someone as fainthearted as her just couldn't be a Gryffindor, not really - or doing what she came to do.
"Stand up", she commanded, and for once Ron obeyed immediately. She licked her lips and closed her eyes for a while.
"Close your eyes and don't peek." As soon as Ron's eyes were closed she tiptoed to him. Without giving herself time to think - because she would've started to regret or fear and she would've ran out the door - she leaned closer and kissed Ron, ever so quickly and without touching him otherwise. It was just a small peck on the lips, nothing more, but it was enough to make Ron's heart thump harder.
Hermione had only taken a few steps towards the door when Ron suddenly grabbed her arm. He turned her around and pushed her against the wall before crashing his lips against hers. This time she thought she felt Ron's tongue touch her upper lip, and was slightly surprised to notice it didn't bother her at all. Instead she ran the tip of her tongue along Ron's lower lip and was slightly surprised to hear Ron moan.
"It's you, isn't it?" Ron breathed, staggering backwards and looking thoroughly embarrassed.
"What?"
"Susy."
After nodding quickly Hermione kissed Ron again. And again. And again.
And again.
