I don't think that's true. I apologized to people I've hurt, and they've forgiven me - and they gained nothing from it. That isn't selfishness.

No... that might be true for some people, but in this case it's not. I'm not better than anyone, and in fact I'm worse than most. I've hurt a lot of people. All I can do is try to do what I can to help people, now that I understand how wrong I was.
