If you're listening to this... it means I've made a grave miscalculation in my plans. The Animus have tricked us, and I've fallen for it. I knew the risk of this when I made my decision.
... right now, I'm gone.
I've learned enough about what happened after my death back home to realize that it may not be permanent. My brother took certain actions to attempt to bring me back, but without my help from the other side, these may not come to fruition. If I hadn't done this now, and the world had in fact ended, I would have disappeared for good in spite of the sacrifices made by my brother.
In all my life, I'd never had to make a decision harder than this, because of the fear that this would come to pass, and I would leave everyone behind.

Alfons, you're going to blame yourself for this. I know you are. Don't. I would have found this information somehow, whether it be from books or my father, but I was desperate. ... and now I've miscalculated, and left everyone behind.
