Array 082 [Video]
[The feed flicks on to a sideways view of Sasuke and Al, putting together dinner in the kitchen. Al passes Sasuke some vegetables to cut into small slices, keeping him well away from the stove.]
I'm not going to set anything on fire if I'm near the stove, Al. [Sasuke cuts the vegetables while trying to sneak in a bite or two of sliced tomatoes.]
Says the guy who bumps the burner up so it will "cook faster". [Al gives a sideways smile at the younger boy, then gives him a stern look as he spots Sasuke sneaking bites.] I thought you ate earlier! You can wait until we finish, can't you?
I'm impatient. [He finishes eating what he's picked out and goes back to cutting.] And I did. Still hungry.
You are impatient. [Al mock-grumbles as he taps the wooden spoon on the side of a pot of something bubbling.] Someday you'll figure out that looking forward to something makes it all the better.
Hn. [He finishes cutting up one vegetable and moves onto the next.] Why else do you think 'kaa-san gets annoyed with me?
Probably because you look a lot like Dad. [Al flashes a smile.] Don't let it get to you.
[Sasuke doesn't say anything, just starts cutting harder. Obviously it does, otherwise he wouldn't be acting out so much.]
[Wordlessly, Al reaches out and puts an arm around his shoulders, fondly ruffling his hair.] Think of it. There's nothing not to like about Dad, right? There's no accounting for taste. [With the other hand he takes the pot off the burner and turns it off.]
[Sasuke can't help but huff a little at that, glaring a little at Al. His hair isn't the easiest thing to fix without redoing it completely.] Hn. I know.
[Al just grins and lightly jabs Sasuke's cheek with a finger, right at the grim line his mouth makes.] Good. [Letting him go, Al reaches out for a ripe, whole tomato, quickly washes it off, and flips it to Sasuke.] Here. For helping me.
[Sasuke blinks and catches it one-handed. He glances it at before shifting his gaze up at Al, a faint smile tugging at his lips.] Thanks.
[Al just grins at him, and waves him off.] No problem. Go wash up and tell everyone dinner's ready, would you?
'kay. [Sasuke bites into the tomato and goes to tell everyone before washing up.]
[Al watches him go, glancing after him, and then turns back to the pot, with... something odd in his eyes. It might be worry. Might be pride. But it's mixed. The feed times out.]
