On a street near my house

On a street near my house, there is, in this order, these buildings.
Retirement home
Docctors office
Hospital
Funeral home
Cemetary.

Wish I could say I felt it was coincidental.

Do you remember when we wouldn't dream of smoking?

And do you remember the time we ate sunchips on the beach after his funeral and that guy's cute puppy jumped in my lap and got sand in my bag?

Do you remember walking on the pier at night and standing on the furthest edge and not saying any words, but understanding each other none the less?

Do you remember the time she tried to make us kiss for a picture but we couldn't stop giggling?

Do you remember that time my aunt thought you were my girlfriend?

How about the time I cried about him, and you sang jimmy eat world to me and made me laugh?

Or earlier that same night how you and I disappeared into santa barbara for just a couple hours, because we both needed a break from it all?

Remember when we saw a7x twice in the same month?

Remember how you bought me my first eyeshadow? Or how you loaned me clothes for my drag/halloween costume?

Do you remember all those times you slept on my couch? And how you once brought me biscuits and gravy at work, and I burned you the annie cd?

Or all those llittle cesars pizzas and hours of southpark, drawn together or wondershowzen?

Remember how we used to talk on the phone every day, sometimes several times?

Remember when we got all the way to oxnard before realizing we missed every exit for ventura because we were having a pat benatar singalong and I had no clue where we were going?

I do.
