Lowlands Compilation

Lowlands compilation on Nederland 3! That means I get to see the bands I didn’t get to see first time around, and the best songs of the bands I did see (Damien Rice’s I Remember and Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down), only without the part of I Remember that came after Bang Bang).

I only got to see the last part of Alamo Race Track when I got there on Friday, so it’s nice to see other good songs they did (Northern Territory in particular), Just Jack I didn’t get to see at all, and there were a lot of emo and/or metalbands that my friends went to but I didn't. New Young Pony Club seems to be female-only, which is rare enough, but their music isn't really to my taste. The Editors aren't bad, per se, but not my style, either. Interpol just started - I didn't see them, either. I'll tell you if I feel I've missed out when this song is finished.

No, didn't miss much there. And Patrick Watson, whom Jag (and the waiter/store owner at the Bagel & Beans, yesterday) was so enthusiastic about, doesn't seem so amazing, either. I wouldn't have minded standing there, but I would't have paid for either of them.

Okay, I think I'd have preferred Patrick Watson to Interpol. Ooh, Groove Armada. Missed them, too, and they're one of those bands I'd have liked to see, even though I don't know much of their music. Except they aren't that good, from what I'm seeing.

Motörhead! I saw them, was standing at the front, though I actually left early for that one. Metal/hardrock has the tendency to sound like noise a little too quickly if you don't know the songs/lyrics/can't catch the rhythm of the beat, and though it was a good concert, I don't know the songs, and I needed to go lie down on one of the stretchers, anyway, what with my feet. But it's nice to see them here on tv, without all those fans around me and live the music was so loud, which must've been my biggest problem with that concert - my eardrums were beating along, and it hurt at some points - was standing way too close to the boxes.

And after that they showed video of the people, the tents, the terrain and stuff (I watched and watched, but didn't see anyone I knew) and then it was finished. What idiots. Do they think they can show the highlights of three days in one hour? They didn't show the Killers, the Kaiser Chiefs, Patrick Wolf, Devendra Banhart, CocoRosie, Nine Inch Nails or even the Heideroosjes.
