Today
Today I spent hours looking for gifts. It's ridiculous how difficult it is to find English books here - I usually pre-order mine weeks beforehand, because there are just about no books. There are the usual pockets, yeah - Danielle Steel and John Grisham - but for the real books you either have to go through the Slegte (a very good second hand bookstore) or order through the local bookstore Heinen (and be willing to wait for three weeks). But in the end I did find a few good books - would've been better if they were in a better state, but I paid more than enough for them.
My... nice, but rather expensive love for handmade stuff makes gift buying a little more difficult for me, too. But it's worth it. (Give me ten more years and I'll have the type of income that can afford my unique way of life. Yes, that thought was there earlier this evening too, but it doesn't make me feel that much better. Ha.)
