Arrow Season Three -- What's Really Going On Here!

I think... Dark Empress and I may just have figured out exactly what-all is going on here in Arrow Season 3!  Who is plotting what?  Who's manipulating who?  Who is the evil mastermind behind all these plots and plans?

Be Warned!  It... is actually a little disturbing...

Keep going.... )

Well, we've seen the season finale, and... this wasn't really addressed.

What I now think happened is like this...

Oliver learns.

When people beat him, he learns.

Slade threw him on the ground when Oliver asked about sticking a gun in his face. Next time someone sticks a gun in Oliver's face -- boom! (Okay, technically, Slade could have taught him that move in the more traditional method in between scenes.)

Malcolm told Oliver he couldn't win because he didn't know what he was willing to sacrifice (ie: his own life). Oliver took that to heart and practically killed himself killing Malcolm. (::coughnearly::)

I'm SURE you noticed how Oliver killed Raz.

Now, in Season Three, the first half, Malcolm is using Thea to manipulate Oliver into fighting Raz before he is ready.

Oliver learns. And he turns that right around and uses Thea to manipulate Malcolm, for the whole second part of the season! He does, you watch it!

The whole flip-flopping thing he does on his opinion of Malcolm? He tells Malcolm that he believes in Malcolm, talks to Malcolm like he's going to help him with Thea... Boom, Malcolm likes (and trusts) him.

To Thea, Oliver is trash-talking Malcolm, encouraging her to hate him and break away from him. Oh, and she called up the League and told them where Malcolm lives? Hey, good excuse to get into Nanda Parbat.

Now maybe Oliver didn't plan on getting Thea killed, and ticking off Diggle, and breaking Felicity's heart... but he was pretty assuredly still out-Malcolming Malcolm.

That's what I think.
