Fucking nuts. For curiosity's sake, I actually queued for the original LA show today. Logged in 10 minutes before tix went on sale, and there was 3200+ people ahead of me. Waited in virtual line maybe 10 more minutes after that to finally get in to buy tickets. Tried getting pit tickets a few times but Ticketmaster kept telling me another fan beat me to them. Refreshed, no difference. Finally clicked on a spot in the seats, acted like I was about to purchase it, cancelled it, and it brought me back to the main map. Clicked on a pit ticket again, and actually got through! I could have bought a GA pit ticket for the first LA show for $256 (including fees). I was tempted to check out. I really, really was. (But of course then I would have had to fly to LA, and um... that would have been a $1000 trip. For one show. So nope.)
Because of the dynamic pricing bullshit that Ticketmaster does, I checked Sunrise and other shows a few hours after they went on sale and prices for a single GA pit got jacked up to $500-600 or more.
Like I said, fucking nuts. It was no different than what happened with Tool in regards to prices getting gouged too. Ticketmaster is a bitch.
Speaking of which... I got an email from them yesterday that the GA pit MB20 tickets I bought two weeks ago never were in fact GA pit. And that they had assigned me center section, 9th row tickets instead. Which isn't bad, tbh... But I was absolutely LIVID. Because I was planning on getting there early so I could get barrier. At the very least, I know I could have gotten second or third row. And now I have no fucking choice. I'm stuck in row J. And they're towards the middle-left. Not even aisle. I at least need aisle seats, being as short as I am. So I am pissed.
(Edit: Emailed Ticketmaster back about this bullshit and complained and they're like, well pick a seat on the map to upgrade to but you'll have to pay the difference. And I'm like, well I want this 4th row seat but it's now a Jakob Dylan meet & greet package... I just want that seat for the standard premium ticket price, not the package, can you do that? Because you SHOULD be able to do that, considering all these seats were ORIGINALLY the same general admission price when I bought them during the presale and you changed them on a whim after that... but they're like, nope can't! FUCK THAT and FUCK TICKETMASTER.
And I did consider just buying the package... Because Jakob Dylan is still a beautiful man and I wouldn't mind meeting him. But I don't want to give Ticketmaster anymore of my money than I absolutely have to. :/ )
On top of that, I keep getting an error when trying to log on to Ticketmaster/Live Nation via Firefox. I've cleared my cookies/cache/log in info, closed and reopened the browser, and it's still telling me "We Need to Try Your Request Again There was an unexpected error while processing your request. To continue, please try again." And it doesn't make a damn difference how many times I try. I can log in fine with Safari and the apps on my phone, but Firefox refuses.
(Edit: Fixed the log in problem. Turned off Enhanced Tracking Protection. Then discovered I had custom settings instead of standard, so I turned it back on and switched it to standard and it still worked ok after that. Phew.)
So a big fuck you shout out to Ticketmaster. I mean, I guess I'm lucky I didn't have to actually get MCR tickets today and deal with that stress. At least Music Midtown is simple and easy... but it's still a shortened festival set when what I actually want is the full arena experience like everybody else on this NA tour gets to have. And which the special folks in LA will get to experience not once, but *five* times now, if you also include the comeback show at the Shrine. :/

My Chemical Romance's much-anticipated reunion tour, which was just announced Wednesday, sold out 228,600 tickets in less than six hours, according to the band, with three additional dates added to the Forum near Los Angeles.
"230K tickets in 1 day. Still in shock," Paradigm's Matt Galle, agent for the band, told Pollstar via email. "My Chemical Romance is larger than ever. Their fans have been waiting nine years to see them. I thought shows would go fast and then we would have some markets that are slower than others and need work. But, nope they all went just as fast as the others. Nuts!"
Before the end of the day, the band had announced a "fourth and final" show at the Forum would go on sale Saturday at noon.

My Chemical Romance returned to the stage last month, at Los Angeles' Shrine Exposition Hall on Dec. 20, for its first concert in more than seven years, with Galle telling Pollstar last month that there were more than 140,000 people in the queue hoping to snag tickets and that it grossed more than $1.3 million.
The emo legends were previously announced to be playing Australia, Japan and Europe from March to July, and as headliners for fall U.S. festivals including Chicago's Riot Fest, Atlanta's Midtown Festival and, although the rumored Coachella appearance didn't end up happening, the Danny Wimmer Presents-produced Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, Calif., which adds to a bill that already had two nights of Metallica headlining.

The obvious pent-up demand for the band, which officially broke up in 2013, caused frustration for some fans who couldn't get tickets, and the band posted about resolving a glitch that had prevented fans in Canada from purchasing tickets to the Tacoma show.
