Bollywood, smoking, and pirates

We rented Hollywood/Bollywood yesterday and it is genius! I was cracking up the entire movie. I mean, a Canadian Britney Spears dies in a freak levitation accident. And that's only the beginning! Then we went and saw Thank You for Smoking which was also brill. Everything was great and my mom says the book is even better so. Yes. Then, hahah, my Disney-nerd came out as we watched Treasure Planet. *g* I don't know if I can explain myself, but um. Joseph Gordon Levitt is the voice of Jim Hawkins and that might have played a small part in the decision to watch it. Teensy part, really. It also made me want to read the full unabridged book, cause I have a lot of love for Long John Silver.
I bought books today! A store in Wallingford was having a sale and I got Haruki Murakami's Kafka on the Shore and Soseki Natsume's I am a cat. I was torn between getting Natsume cause they had a good-looking copy of Lolita by Nabokov, but I've already read it and if we read it for book groups, then I'll just get it anyways. And I've got nine plays of Eugene O'Neill to read. I like his stuff. None of it is particularily upbeat (understatement) but he's a good writer. Wow, it seems like the only thing I do is watch movies and read books. I listen to music too! In fact, I was just hit by a huge wave of nostalgia for the Spice Girls. I hope I still have their CDs (yes, I have/had more than one).
In conclusions: Shakalaka BABY!
