Screw that shit. If Apollo wants to sleep all over the place with blonds, that's none of my business anymore. Time after time after time, and I'm entirely sick of it. If he wants to play this game so goddamned badly, I'll fucking join him in it ( Read more... )

I never really knew how you felt about things, Hyacinth. I'm... sorry I brought you so much pain...

I don't really need to listen to apologies from the both of you. 'Sorry' after 'sorry' after 'sorry'. Do either of you really mean it?

Would leaving the two of you be 'really mean it' for you?

... What difference would there be? He would fall in love, over and over again, with some other boy, with your wide innocent eyes and blond hair. At least I think of you as a friend.

I think of you as a friend, as well.

He'll always come back to you, though.

Psh. Yeah, of course he will. I'm the only fool who will promise him my eternal life, when my entire race views immortality as anathema.

There are some people on my world who sought immortality, and then others who were immortal who desired mortality. I think there's a phrase for it. "The grass is always greener on your neighbor's pasture."

[[Al's trying SO HARD not to say anything stupid to damage Apollo/Hyacinth more than it is]]

Perhaps. But I have never desired immortality.

... I always thought I would die in battle. With honour. And this is what he does in return for my pledge.

((D: Sorry Alphooonse. ;___; Hyacinth doesn't really mean it, it's the virus talking.))

That's where you come from? A warring society?

[[ACK... he knows it's the stupid virus, but he can't help but want to help in some fashion. ♥]]

Yeah. Fighting was an integral part of our lives.

But you'd never understand that. You're from a peaceful place.

Actually, Amestris was a Military State. There were always spats of fighting within the country, as well as skirmishes around the neighboring national boarders from the time of it's inception.

The nation is a conglomerate of other smaller, weaker countries that couldn't stand up to the military force.

I heard about that, when I was chained to you on Fiji. True, your nation warred, but it is not your life.

Sparta is- was- different. Boys of seven are to leave their families to join the agoge, to learn to be soldiers. When we go to war, we return victorious or we die. I've heard about your Amestris. Your childhoods are nothing like ours.

No...it definitely isn't.

You became a soldier, then. Were..you in many wars?
