Ultimate Free Roadside Pick-up
Last night at about 11:30pm I called my friend Adam because he had a truck. I paid him $20 for his efforts. I now own a washer and dryer. The signs said they work. Washer - "FREE squeaks but still works", Dryer - "FREE works great". Awesome. Washers and dryers are expensive. And I also found out the night before that I'll be living in a house with washer and dryer hookups. So I called up my future roommate and told him. He thought it was pretty cool. I figure how ever crappy they work is better than all the trips to the laundromat I'd have to make otherwise.
We moved them to my apartment, so now they're sitting in my kitchen until I get my storage unit on the 25th. Good thing my roommates already moved out.
It made me think of the days when my friends and I vowed to pick up anything we saw with a free sign on the side of the road. Man did we end up with some crap. It also reminded me of my dumpster diving days.
Seriously, free washer and dryer!
