Those of you who will be attending the ominous dinner party this Saturday, it will actually be good to see you. Only a few days, and home is already oppressive. I don't actually know all who are coming. Pansy, you are attending, I know. And I assume people who work with my parents, since I think we all know that this party is not really for me, despite what they say.
Fortunately, I have a good stash of refreshments in my quarters, so once the adult members of the party have retired to the library to drink and discuss business, we can go elsewhere. Numb the pain a bit, especially since I suspect this will not be a particularly pleasant gathering.

Oh the joys of being home. I do like having all the grounds to myself. It is good for flying practice; no one else to bother me. I practice enough this summer and I'm sure that next year we will once again be able to beat the Gryffindor quidditch team into the ground. Especially since you can be sure that bloody Potter won't be practicing this summer - probably thinks he is above it.
I don't expect to be alone for long though. Marta, one of the maids, said she overheard my parents talking, and we're apparently going to have a lot of people coming in and out of the manor this summer.
