Sep 06, 2013 15:56

Shhh! Did you hear that? Wait! Did you see something? Listen! Did you smell something? Oh it’s the rustle of a pale fabric wafting the creepiest and beautiful perfumes of the season from Blooddrop!

Welcome to part one of three (that’s how many I have planned for now!) of the Autumnal and Halloween update!! The absolute bestest of the year! This first part of the update is comprised of the perfume collection, seasonal bath oils and linen & chamber sprays. Bath goods will follow in a few weeks and the APPLE CIDER DOUGHNUTS ALL TEH THINGZ plus Autumn Simplicities will come in October.

The perfume collection contains 14 fabulous perfumes (most new), the return of the highly requested Witch’s Familiars bath oils (minus Tarantula but plus new Newt), and the return of the highly requested monster ladies linen & chamber sprays.

I won’t keep you. I know you want to be off browsing and planning your order! I hope you are excited and try lots of new things… perhaps some things you wouldn’t normally try (Life is short! Be adventurous! Be daring! It’s Halloween!).

I’ll see you back here in a few weeks and come hang out upside down like bats with us on facebook!

Batty snuggles,
Astrid xox

8:30am
(Halloween breakfast)
Mmmm….. Halloween breakfast! If you’re going to celebrate this day properly, you’re going to need a good breakfast to hold you, at least, through to lunch to hold you through to snack time to hold you through until dinner to hold you through until SUPERAWESOMEGIMMEHCANDYTIME!!!!!! So for this special breakfast, let Blooddrop set in front of you a mountain high plate of our super wonderful pumpkin waffles with pumpkin pie-seasoned whipped cream and a little carafe of maple syrup. Mmmmm indeed!

9:30pm
So maybe you’re not the type to go out trick-or-treating, but giving out candy to all the neighborhood children is a treat in and of itself. Once that is all done, the outdoor lights are turned off, the pumpkin candles are burned down, you settle down in front of the TV to watch something like a Karloff or Price movie and a little dish of a treat just for you: pumpkin and orange cream sherbet. G’night!

A Coffin Built for Two
Blooddrop Wine & Spirits brings you a creepy cocktail (not really, this is a joke, don’t drink this) just in time for Halloween: A Coffin Built for Two! Spiced rum, pumpkin liquor, vanilla liquor, honey bourbon, and a little coffin-shaped side dish of caramel corn. Served in a martini glass with black sugared rim and a candy pumpkin skewered on a skull-ended toothpick.

Apples & Bones
Crisp, clean, chilly and a touch creepy. Cold gala apples, pale bone musk and a breath of Autumn’s evening air.

Autumn Delights
Imagine you and your significant other, best friend, dog decide to take a drive up to Vermont for the peak season of the colorful leaves in Autumn. You decide to make a weekend of it and find a really charming B&B to stay overnight. You wander off the highway, along back roads, along mountains, by dairy farms with your windows open because it’s just a gorgeous day. You eventually stop because you’re hungry for something. You find a little place open. It’s a little late for lunch, but too early for dinner, so they suggest just a little sweet to satisfy. You have their homemade pumpkin and vanilla walnut ice cream in a gingerbread waffle cone. You get it to go and sit on a bench outside, soaking in the wonderfulness of it all. These are the delights of Autumn.

Bootiful
The perfume of a gorgeous and irresistible spirit; a blend of pink lotus, lily, broom, tea rose, and heliotrope absolutes on a base of creamy marshmallow.

Curse
Darkened words, spoken from the depths to stick like tar.
Sandalwood, oakmoss, Meroe musk, bay rum, pitch, apple blossom, patchouli, and seasonal spices.

Faint
The sound, the feeling, the near glimpse of something there, but not quite which unsettles you, slightly unhinges, begins the slight fissure in your being that will lead to you completely shattering.
Pale cream, aloe, cyclamen, Royal Hawaiian sandalwood, fig leaf, violet leaf, galbanum, blueberry, and magnolia.

Halloween Not Ever Again
My mom and I always loved Halloween. She always supported by wishes to have Halloween parties and dress up, she loved to give out candy and appreciate all the costumes (she also gave out doggie treats to anyone who walked with their dog), we had cider in the house, pumpkins were carved, and we both just had so much fun with the season. My mom passed away earlier this year and it has been a year filled with so much reflection over my life with her. Lately, I’ve been thinking about our Halloweens together and how, while I haven’t lived with her for many years, this time of the year will never be the same knowing she is gone, knowing she won’t be able to share the fun with her grandson. I miss her terribly and this scent is dedicated to her. It is filled with love, fondness and good memories. Pumpkin cheesecake, coffee, tobacco, cider, ginger, and vanilla.

Long Black Veil
This isn’t about the Johnny Cash song or the NYC goth night that took place at Mother during the 90’s, it’s about the beautiful, somber imagery that these words evoke of a woman in mourning. Morose black rose, oud attar, carnation, vetiver, myrrh, violet leaf, tobacco, and rose de mai.

Parlor Tricks
A flick of the switch, poor lighting, a table that rocks with the press of a foot lever, a Ouija board planchette that moves with a trick of a magnet, a ghostly apparition beyond a pale curtain, perculiar ectoplasm…. All the devious little ruses of Spiritualists to raise their guests hackles! Strong black tea, pink roses, coffin wood, sweet cassie, and gentleman’s fougere.

Quelle Horreur
Confined. The touch of satin slides against your fingers. You rap. The sound of wood. The scent of funeral incense, roses, and…. My god, the scent of deep, wet earth.
Shrill
High-pitched, like a scream, like the incessant ringing in one’s ears, utterly maddening and hair-raising. Effervescent, Granny Smith apple, simple syrup, white tea, galangal, green myrtle, and rosemary.
Summer’s Remains
The last beautiful offerings of summer intertwined with the early bounties of fall; sweet pear, chrysanthemums, blue chamomile, elderflower, hay, rosemary, mullein and a touch of tobacco.

Familiars of the Witch Bathing Oil Series:
Bat
Wild blueberries, vanilla absolute, and vanillaed musk.
Hare
Bergamot, meadow mint, clary sage, and heliotrope.
Newt
Green tea, yuzu, palma rosa, neroli, orchid, Egyptian geranium, and elderflower.
Toad
Patchouli, gritty figs and sweetened ricotta.
Vixen
Vanilla, neroli, honeysuckle, cardamom and yuzu.
Wolf
Nutmeg, oakmoss, carnation, sage, vanilla, and patchouli.

Linen & Chamber Spray limited editions:
Dracula’s Daughter’s Crypt
Daughter to the Count, she had a lush crypt for late night gatherings with her entourage of darklings; champagne, bouquets of pink roses, midnight blackberries, and pale white coffin wood.

Frankenstein’s Bride’s Kitchen
The Bride, prior to her reanimation, was a fabulous cook. Fortunately for the newlyweds, this trait transferred over and was a blessing for her as the kitchen was the only place the monster would let her be by herself. This little lady’s signature dish was apple pie with a butter crust.

The 50ft. Woman’s Tea Room
Poor girl, she adored tea parties, but sadly, couldn’t handle the delicate china without crushing everything to dust. To remedy that, she would simply have her guests serve themselves, but she still managed to roll tasty little pumpkin almond macaroons. Unfortunately, they were the size of bowling balls.

The Wolf Woman’s Den
The Wolf Woman began by spending her full moons shaving, but soon realized it was a pointless task. The cost of razors was obscene! She accepted her fate and spent her monthly fluffiness watching reruns of Magnum P.I., eating pumpkin pie and chocolate chiffon pie from their pie tins, while brushing her umber mane.
