Perfect. He was just what Akabane was looking for: fresh meat. With his ever-present smile, the taller man strolled up to the newcomer, voice quizzical and polite as he spoke.
"You seem to be rather agitated. Is there a problem I could assist you with?"
"I'm here," he muttered. Glancing up, Ban held his tongue for a moment, eyebrow raised. Guy looked familiar, but Ban shook his head with a sigh. "Not unless you have a cigarette."
"I do not carry anything with me, but I would be happy to lead you to a little shop that sells them," he offered, tipping his hat up enough for Ban to see his closed eyes.
Akabane gave a small nod. "They do, although I would personally recommend that you hold on purchasing more expensive items such as clothing until you either acquire a job or participate in one of the games."
He turned to start down the hallway, still glancing over his shoulder at Ban. "Of course, that is only my opinion. You are free to spend your credits however you wish."
"Ah yes. You are relatively new here, aren't you?" Akabane mused aloud. As his back was to his irritated fellow inmate, Akabane was able to hide his smirk from him with ease. "Once every few days, the prisoners of Deadman Wonderland participate in events prearranged by the maintainers of the facility. They are either mandatory or optional, but either way...well..."
Akabane couldn't help but chuckle lightly. "Let us just say that they are not the typical 'games' one would expect to witness at an amusement park."
Their journey to the miniature store would have been shorter, but Akabane appeared to be taking his time in getting there. It was as though he considered their trip more of a leisurely walk than him showing a fellow inmate around.
"Before my arrival, I resided in a house just on the outskirts of Shinjuku."

Not like he had much of a choice; he followed the taller man down the hall, though keeping his distance. "What the hell are you talking about?"

He glanced back at Ban. "And what of yourself? I cannot be the only one responding to questions in this conversation."
