Battle Of The Year Asia 2009!
I was at the event unexpectedly. Well, I’m supposed to collect a brochure from this showflat opposite Downtown East which opens only on wkends. I might as well drop by to see who’s working that day. So imagine my surprise when I saw not only was everyone around, BOTY Asia 2009 is held right here at D’Marquee!!!
I saw Yvonne (SW) too! She’s been there since 2.30pm to support her friends from Taiwan. I was just in time for their meal break. Sianz… Went to look for my ex-colleagues to slack & chat. By the time I returned, I’ve just missed the showcase by the top 4 teams. Double sianz… But I managed to catch the guest performances by GoGo Brothers. Wow! They rock! Apparently, the duo is very well-known in the poppin’ & lockin’ scene. & of cuz prior to this, I have no idea who they are. =p
& finally, the dance battles! Taiwan vs Vietnam for the 3rd ranking & Japan vs Korea for the championship! This is the first time I witness live dance battles & it’s really an eye-opener! The rousing crowd, the sophisticated b-boys moves, the high energy levels & intense moments. I enjoyed every bit of it!
