ah, Istanbul, back to city life, yes, I prefer cities
last night a nice trip across the Bosphorus from the Asian to European side to get home
it's warmer here (sweatshirt weather instead of winter jacket), the sun is shining
hehe, on the way back, since we had 20 minutes until the ferry came, and we were both hungry,
we grabbed a bite to eat (as well as had orange juice, fresh pressed only 1 Lira!!!)
of course with the luggage and me, well, obviously not being Turkish, the guys serving the food asked Yalcin where I was from
he said America, and a big political discussion ensued - quite entertaining
talking about the hypocrisy of Americans, asking whether I like Bush and such
the highlight: one of the guys said, if the Ottoman Empire would still exist they would head over and invade America! :)
Happy Newroz by the way! Yalcin and I are heading over somewhere this afternoon to go celebrate (well, which is essentially a semi-demonstration by the Kurdish, but also a celebration). Should be interesting. Until then, I'm going to do some studying for Dutch (I will be taking the midterm the Tuesday after break), Yalcin already left about half an hour ago to take a one of his midterms.
